NOTE: I am assuming you have weeded out any rubbish photos and optimised them for web – i.e. you will have reduced the physical size of the image files. Otherwise they will take ages to upload and download. You can do this individually in an image editor, or another convenient way to resize the photos is to select them all on your PC and right-click, then choose Resize. I usually make them “large” which is max size 800 pixels across.
To create a Gallery in the website, first of all, log in to http://ayrshirealliance.co.uk/ (there is a login link on the left hand column).
You will see a screen like this (click for larger version):

You will be adding a new post, e.g. make the Title Kiltwalk Gallery #2 or whatever the next gallery number should be.
Then move the cursor to the Body of Post input box, i.e. click in this box. You could start by typing some text here, alternatively just add the photos, like I did in the ‘Kiltwalk Gallery #1′ Post.
Use the Add Image button (it’s like a solid square inside a square outline). You will be prompted to Select Files to upload. Browse to the photo files on your local PC and select them all. When you click Open, the files will start uploadiing. It will take some time for them all to upload, so be patient.
When they have all uploaded, press Save. You will see a screen like this (here I’ve only got 3 images, but you will have potentially lots):

You can reorder them by filling in the order boxes with 1, 2, 3….etc. It’s bit clunky but it works.
When you’re happy, press Insert Gallery and you will see it’s added a blueish Gallery into the body of the Post:
Select the Categories that the Post pertains to. In this case it’s just Kiltwalk 2010.
Now you can Preview the Post. It wil conveniently open in a new window. To be on the safe side, it’s probably best to Save Draft first.
Close the Preview window and Publish the Post. If you don’t Publish, it won’t be er, well, published!!
Thats it! Your Post has been published and should be viewable by the world.
